10 Natural-ish Remedies for Morning Sickness

Oh the dreaded "morning" sickness. I swear a man must have given it that name, because if you've experienced morning sickness at all you know it doesn't just strike in the morning, its pretty much ALL DANG DAY long.. sigh. Anyways, there are lots "theories" behind why some are subjected to morning sickness and some aren't.. but there aren't really any known answers. There is some literature to suggest that morning sickness tends to have better outcomes / lower risk of pregnancy loss. Now I know plenty of people that have had very healthy pregnancies and babies that had no morning sickness, so I don't mean to make you worry if you are not experiencing this, but if you are suffering ...

We’re Having a Baby!

You read that right, Oliver is about to be a big brother! Baby Bloom is coming in October! To answer the million dollar question "were you trying?" Well, without getting too personal here, we were not NOT trying. So although we weren't exactly planning for baby Bloom so early in our marriage, we believe that God always has a plan and that His timing is more perfect than ours can ever be. We know that so many people are not as fortunate as we have been when trying to conceive, so we feel very blessed and lucky to be given this gift! We sure were a bit surprised but we couldn't be more excited to meet baby B! So how did you know? Well... let's just say that ever since ...

Fridge Dump “Fried” Rice

Fridge dumping is kinda my favorite. If you don't know what that means.. it's basically when you open your fridge and freezer and use up leftovers from your week to create a bomb meal. I'll pull frozen veggies from the freezer, use up fresh produce that's about to go bad, use canned chicken for protein if I don't have any... basically nothing is off limits. We normally "batch" cook protein, veggies, and carbs on the weekends, so fridge dumping is a way to repurpose them. The best past about fridge dumping is the options are endless and it doesn't get boring because every week you will usually have some different ingredients in there to use. Get creative with it. Basically you just ...

Valentine’s Bath Bombs

So if you made it here you probably know that I like to keep things as natural as I can when it comes to what I eat and put on my body. I'm nowhere near perfect but I try my best to keep the processed goods to a minimum. Skin and hair products are some of the biggest offenders for fragrance and other synthetics, so I have been having fun with some diys! I'm seriously addicted to making these bath bombs... like once you get started you won't be able to stop. I think I made 4 batches at once before Christmas!  They are so pretty and fun and... gosh I just want to go open a bath bomb shop :) Okay but really, Happy Valentine's Day! You can't go wrong with these, whether you keep them ...

Breakfast Tacos

Tacos are so trendy right now, and I'm so into them :) I love them so much because not only are they delicious, but they are so easy to make. They are one of the few things that I actually prefer making them at home as opposed to ordering out (okay, Torchy's is definitely the exception). The other best thing about them is that they are so versatile, you can play with the combos forever and never get bored. Oh, and you really don't even have to have any special ingredients on hand, as long as you have the base (a tortilla), you can basically dump the leftovers from your week into a shell and call it a taco (and you know fridge dumps are my favorite)! Here's one of my favorite combos for a ...

“Cheesy” Roasted Broccoli

hey there friends. so i'm about a year into hangryforrealfood... and i haven't been blogging... pretty much at all. i've been living life over on ig as a "microblogger" which is so great for day-to-day stuff... but sometimes i have more to say (let's face it... i always have more to say) ha! so my intention with my blog for this year is just to post more. simple as that! i talk about my obsession (read.. borderline addiction) with roasted broccoli all the time.. and i know i'm met with allllll the eyerolls. "great, another loony chick who LOVES VEGGIES, PLEASE!" hear me out though - i don't LOVEEE all veggies and i'm not obsessed will all forms of broccoli - like i think steamed ...

Why I CrossFit

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 10 years you have probably heard of CrossFit and you probably think you know exactly what it is. "Bros, girls in spandex, people throwing weights all over the gym, people laying around on the ground after their workout, a cult, etc." It's cool.. I'm not mad about it... I thought all of those things too before I went to my first Crossfit class.  I was actually one of the worst offenders for ragging on something that I thought I knew so much about but really had no idea. So what is CrossFit really? CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and ...
